The GR 63: “Senda de Viriato” is a long distance route of 141 km that has recovered and linked old roads, trails and creeks that once united the towns and which itinerary runs through the closed area of the Sierra de San Vicente for a Northeast southwest and northwest to southeast, which allows to know the different climate and landscape zoness and to show regarding botany and fauna the Sierra San Vicente is a good "summary" of the entire Central System.

It was approved by the Mountaineering Federation of Castilla La Mancha in 2000.

Biodiversity of the Sierra de San Vicente also depends on you. The high ecological value of this district has been sustained for centuries by the inhabitants of these lands. Its future depends on all players who use this medium, including tourists.

So when you enjoy these places remember:


Do not smoke or fire in risk areas. According to the Fire Act (Order of 16/05/06) high danger runs in the period from June 1 to September 30, when people are not allowed to conduct any activity that might involve a risk of fire.
Take the garbage you generate. You can also collaborate in the conservation of the mountain, picking up the garbage you find.
Do not leave the route of footpaths and roads.
Respect the local livestock (close gates as you proceed).
Do not discharge waste into water sources and courses.
Avoid contact with animals that find and respect the silence of Nature.
Do not collect plants. Its beauty lies in remaining where they are
Respects the surrounding environment.
Motor vehicles are not allowed in the paths.
Follow any indication given by competent personnel.

And enjoy watching, listening, smelling and feeling what nature offers.
