The name is due to its repopulator, the gentleman Nuno Gomez, who was around these lands in the second half of C.XII. It is likely that he accompanied the King Alfonso VI during the Reconquista and then set in this place and gave it its name.

This newly created town depended on the "Castil of Bayuela", the oldest in the region, already populated by the Celts. Belonged to the Lordship of Ruy Lopez de Arevalo, Don Alvaro de Luna, the Countess of Infantados, the Mendoza and the Marquis of Montesclaros.

It was in 1655 when it acquired the status of a village through the Duke of Híjar. From this year, its roll stands as testimony to their new gained category.

It has belonged to the diocese of Ávila until October 1, 1955, which came to belong to the diocese of Toledo. Instead, it belonged to Talavera until 1849 that came to belong to Escalona.
