Natural Heritage

The Sierra de San Vicente is a distinct landscape and environment, with a wealth of biodiversity, characterized by the preservation of their ecosystems.

Located between two rivers, the Tietar and Alberche, and between two mountain ranges, the San Vicente and the Gredos, its climate and topography allows, within a few kilometers, the most varied plant species living side by side. From the pure oak to the junipers, cork oak, to oak, chestnut and ash in higher areas.

It is a transition zone between the typical vegetation of Extremadura and that of the Central System.

This botanical biodiversity and climatic characteristics create an environment that leads to the development of multiple animal species as mammals, birds and insects.

The shape of the terrain is typical of the mountain, marked by a small line of mountains with elevations ranging between 800 and 1350 m, granitic soils of large rocks and uneven terrain.

Climatologically, the Sierra San Vicente has a very high rate of rainfall and pleasant temperatures, cool summers and mild winters.
